About the club
Established in 1877, the Westminster Kennel Club is America’s oldest organization dedicated to the sport of dogs. The show is the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the United States — after the Kentucky Derby — and has been the longest nationally televised live dog show since 1948.

Venue history
Westminster was held at Madison Square Garden through 2020. The club moved to the Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown, NY for 2021–2022, then to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens for 2023–2024. Since 2025 the show has split venues: daytime breed judging at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, with evening group judging and Best in Show at Madison Square Garden. Verified 2026
