Handler leads

Pay per introduction

Every handler introduction on ThePetAdvisor is a tracked, billable lead. No exposed emails, no back channels, no free DMs — when a handler's time turns into a client conversation, the handler gets paid for it.

Browse handler requests Post a request

How it works

  1. An owner posts an open request — a weekend they need covered, a campaign, a ringside pickup. It's listed on the board with the show, the dates, and the dogs.
  2. Handlers respond free. Answering a request costs nothing — several handlers can answer the same request.
  3. The booked handler pays one lead credit. When the lister picks their preferred handler, the chosen handler pays one credit of the matching type. Nobody pays for a lead that doesn't book.
  4. Both sides negotiate in the thread. Terms, availability, rates — it all happens in the message thread on the site, visible only to the two of them.
  5. The lister picks their preferred handler. Choosing closes the request and takes it off the board.

Lead credit prices

  • Ringside pickup — $19.95 per lead
  • Weekend handling — $39.95 per lead
  • Campaign — $199.95 per lead

Extra credits are bought as you go from the billing page and are good for 12 months.

The free monthly lead

Pro Handlers get their first ringside-pickup booking each calendar month free. It expires at month end and doesn't roll over — use it or lose it.

Who can use leads

Pro Exhibitor members and Pro Handlers can post requests and negotiate in the threads; only Pro Handlers can answer requests and be booked. Free accounts can browse the board but can't initiate contact.

Honest answers

  • Can more than one handler answer my request? Yes — and that's the point. You negotiate with each of them in private threads, then choose the one you want.
  • Do I pay to post a request? No. Posting is free for Pro Exhibitor members and Pro Handlers; the handler pays the lead credit only when they're chosen and booked.
  • What if nobody answers? The request stays on the board until the show weekend passes. Pro Handlers with matching breeds and regions get new requests pushed to their inbox, so the right people see it first.
  • Can I contact a handler directly instead? No — every introduction goes through the tracked lead flow. That's what keeps it fair to the handlers.
