What is the Erie Kennel Club show?

The Erie Kennel Club, Inc.’s annual winter weekend — two all-breed conformation shows plus obedience and rally trials, Saturday and Sunday, January 30–31, 2027, indoors at the Bayfront Convention Center on the Lake Erie waterfront. It’s the club’s yearly hometown show and one of the most spectator-friendly weekends in the region.

The two days, day by day

Can you still enter?

Yes. As of mid-October 2026, entries are open. Entries close Wednesday, January 13, 2027, through superintendent MB-F, Inc. (InfoDog). Entry fees have not been published yet.

Attending in person

Spectator details for 2027 haven’t been published, but the Erie show’s formula is consistent: prior-year shows ran 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. with $8 adult admission ($3 for ages 4–10, free under 4), a 4–6 Month Puppy Competition, Meet the Breeds, dog show tours all day, more than 30 vendors, and a basket raffle. Two things to know before you go: no strollers and no un-entered dogs are allowed in the convention center.

Planning your visit

The Bayfront Convention Center is at 1 Sassafras Pier on Erie’s waterfront. The nearest airport is Erie International (ERI); many visitors fly into Pittsburgh or Buffalo and drive. In prior years the club recommended the Courtyard Marriott and Sheraton, both connected to the convention center — 2027 host hotels are pending.

Why go

Lake-effect snow outside, climate-controlled rings inside: the Erie weekend is proof that January showing doesn’t have to mean shivering. Between the puppy competition, Meet the Breeds, and the vendor rows, it’s built as much for the public as for the exhibitors — bring the family.
