What is the Charleston Kennel Club show?

The Charleston Kennel Club’s annual all-breed weekend — two shows, Saturday and Sunday, January 30–31, 2027, indoors at Exchange Park (the Coastal Carolina Fairgrounds) in Ladson, South Carolina, just off I-26 northwest of Charleston. It’s an AKC member club show with a reputation as one of the Lowcountry’s most family-friendly winter weekends.

Attending in person

Spectator details for 2027 haven’t been published, but the pattern is well established: prior-year shows ran 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. with $3 gate admission, a Meet the Breeds area, dog show tours, more than 30 vendors, and food trucks. Only dogs entered in the show may attend.

Last year, for reference

The January 2026 shows drew 834 dogs Saturday and 837 Sunday. Saturday’s Best in Show was GCH Terra’s A Man For All Seasons, a Bouvier des Flandres, under Mrs. Debra Ferguson-Jones; Sunday’s was GCHG Irondale’s Bedazzled, a Boxer, under Ms. Lee Whittier. The 2027 judge panel is pending.

Why go

A big-entry, indoor, two-day weekend twenty minutes from downtown Charleston — easy majors, mild Lowcountry January weather, and a show the whole family can enjoy. It’s the rare weekend that works as well for the serious exhibitor as for the curious neighbor.
